## Golden EDI Standard App

The Golden EDI Standard App for Business Central has functions for importing, exporting and controlling data in a configurable framework without coding needed. Many standard functionalities are ready to use "out of the box".

Golden EDI is used to transfer data between Business Central and external parties, other applications or intercompanies.&#x20;

Golden EDI is a 2-layered solution for EDI; The Standard App handles processes inside Business Central, the Cloud Integration Platform (CIP) handles the communication between sender and receiver. A Work Item Id for each transaction is the link between the two layers.  &#x20;

Golden EDI can also be used to transfer data between different tables inside the same Business Central company. This can be useful when Business Central is integrated with other applications or for Partner Apps where populating custom tables with certain data is needed. &#x20;

A few examples of integration flows where Golden EDI can be used:&#x20;
